Course Overview: Train In America's Last Frontier
Spend seven days camping in the great Alaskan outdoors learning essential survival skills, bushcraft, wilderness medicine, and more.
This course will all be hands on in the outdoors, but is not "grueling" like our Alaska Field Course. Food is provided and camping gear is employed. The work pace and schedule allows for enjoyment of the local surroundings, as well as the training. After training activities may include: atv trail rides, salmon fishing, hiking, paddling canoes, and more.
We'll start by covering the most essential outdoor skills like:
fire making, water location and purification, shelter construction, emergency signaling, wild plant identification, all through both primitive and modern means, and more.
From there we will cover such skills as:
Wilderness First Aid, map & compass navigation, foraging for wild foods and medicine, primitive trapping, curing meat, basketry, and more.
All training is hands on, and each student gets individual instructor attention.
