These courses take place in Alaska because it the last place in the United States where you can do the real thing. Our permits allow us to operate in wild places, forage, fish, build shelters, and sleep by open fires in a place filled with wildlife. First and foremost, we are a field school. Our Field Courses are not only based on developing the skills essential to survival in an outdoor emergency, but actually re-creating the survival situation. Overcoming the challenges this type of training presents empowers the student, and builds confidence in their ability to perform effectively in an emergency.
